Take advantage of the end of the year bulb sale - they're all 40% off. You can assemble some spectacular combos to get a jump start on spring.You can add some annuals to enhance your plantings - pansies or violas work well. Hummingbirds to brighten a wall in winter


Row cover can serve in many seasons. Right now it's great for protecting the young winter vegetables and tender citrus. Later on, you can use it to protect fruit trees from hungry birds.Be sure to plant some manzanitas in your garden. It's a great source of food for the hummingbirds this time of year when flowers are sparse.

 

 

The bareroot season returns! One of the most sensational new fruit introductions of the last years is the pluot. Many of you are familiar with this fruit - a cross between the plum and apricot. Yes, several varieties are available in super markets and farmer's markets but you might be disappointed. The flavor of home grown fruit can't be beat! And now there are so many varieties from which to choose!

These fruits are full of flavor - and they have an exteremly long ripening span. June through October!

And there's more! A very tasty cross beween a plum and peach - Tri-lite peach plum. And now the hybridizers have truly outdone themselves; they've created the Peacotum "Bella Gold", which is a cross with the attributes of the peach, the apricot and the plum .
